Terms of Use
The terms behind your use of CountdownMail: your account, acceptable use, payments and refunds, and the limits of our liability.
Last updated: July 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of CountdownMail: the website, the countdown timer service, and our API. Please read them. By using CountdownMail you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Your account
To use CountdownMail you must be at least 16 years old. Give us accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You're responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use. Don't choose a username that impersonates someone else or that you don't have the right to use.
Acceptable use
Don't use CountdownMail to:
- send spam or unsolicited bulk email
- run scams, phishing, or any kind of fraud
- do anything illegal or harmful, or harass or impersonate others
- infringe someone else's intellectual property or privacy
- pass personal data (such as email addresses or names) as timer identifiers or in any URL parameter sent to our service. Use random, non-identifying values instead
- attack, probe, or interfere with our systems, security, or other users.
You're responsible for all activity in your account. Breaking these rules is grounds for immediate suspension or termination.
Your timers and content
You keep ownership of the timers and content you create. You grant us the license we need to host, store, serve, and display them so we can provide the service. You're responsible for what you create and confirm you have the right to use it. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.
Our content and API
CountdownMail, meaning our website, software, and trademarks, belongs to us or our licensors. You're welcome to use the service and add the embed code we generate to your own email campaigns, but you may not copy, resell, sublicense, or otherwise exploit our software or website beyond what the service is intended for without our written permission. Use of our API is subject to any API terms we publish.
Fees and payment
Paid plans are billed through Paddle, our Merchant of Record, in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes. You confirm you're authorized to use your payment method. We may change prices with reasonable notice by posting the new prices and, where appropriate, emailing you. If you don't want the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect. Paid services are provided on an "as is" basis.
Refunds
You can cancel any time, and we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Refunds are based on your usage since your last credit refill, your plan's monthly allowance, and the time left on your term. Credits you've already used are not refundable. A refund covers the unused portion of your plan.
- Monthly plans (any plan shorter than a year): we refund unused credits for your current month, pro-rated to your plan's monthly allowance and your usage since your last refill date. Any overage fees you incurred are charged.
- Annual plans (a year or longer): you can cancel any time and receive a refund for the unused time left on your term, plus unused credits since your last refill, pro-rated. Any sign-up or renewal discount is deducted from the refund, and overage fees are charged.
You won't be refunded more than once for the same product. Payments and refunds are handled by Paddle. We may update these refund rules. The rules in effect when you request a refund apply.
Suspension and termination
You can cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate any account at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, at our sole discretion. This includes accounts we believe are used for fraud, spam, scams, or anything illegal or harmful. Accounts terminated for such misuse are not eligible for a refund. If we terminate an account that hasn't broken these terms, our Refund Policy applies. When an account ends, your right to use CountdownMail stops, and the sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) continue to apply.
The service is provided "as is"
We provide CountdownMail on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your expectations, and we're not responsible for storing or preserving your content. Please keep your own copies of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, CountdownMail and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to US $300. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to cover us and our team against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these terms.
Third-party sites
Timer images may be embedded in emails and on third-party sites through an img tag, and we can't control where they appear. We're not responsible for third-party sites or content, or for how any third party handles your information.
Privacy and data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, and our Data Processing Terms explain our roles, sub-processors, and how we handle data. Both apply automatically and form part of these terms. In short: we do not receive your email recipients' names, email addresses, or contact lists, and we do not process recipient data on your behalf, so a separate Data Processing Agreement is generally not required.
Service level
We aim for 99.9% monthly uptime, excluding scheduled maintenance and events beyond our control. Where possible we schedule maintenance during off-peak hours. This doesn't cover problems caused by your own network or equipment. You can reach us for support at [email protected].
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect data: encryption in transit and at rest, and access restricted to authorized personnel on a least-privilege basis. Because timers are images you embed in your own emails, we don't receive, store, or have access to your systems, your contact lists, or your recipients' names and email addresses.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above, and the new version takes effect when posted. Continuing to use CountdownMail after a change means you accept the updated terms.
General
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Terms, are the entire agreement between you and CountdownMail. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them. Our failure to enforce a right isn't a waiver of it, and we're not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
